Updated In March, 2017 - Poker Host was one of the first poker sites online. To be completely honest I have not really thought of them for maybe 6-7 years. The US poker industry has changed quite a bit since then. I regularly visit poker forums to find out which US poker sites have good reputations and I constantly hear about PokerHost being a popular room. PokerHost is a skin on the Merge Gaming Network. If you look at my list of the best online poker rooms for 2015 you will see that the Merge and Revolution Gaming networks are absent. Merge is a good network but they have 8+ week payouts. Revolution and Lock Poker have 6+ month payouts so they are certainly the better of the two. I created a post on a poker affiliate forum to find out which Merge Gaming rooms have independent banking. This is important. If a skin simply uses the network banking system they will have to wait 2 months for a cashout but if a skin has their own banking system it would be much quicker. It turns out that Poker Host is one of the only rooms on the network with independent banking. Pokerhost payouts in 2015 via Cash Transfer or Money Transfer take 3-7 days at most. The fact that Pokerhost has a spotless 10+ year history, excellent promotions and great support also helps. This PokerHost review in March, 2015 includes the good and the bad. The Merge Network has really held PokerHost.com back in my opinion. The network recently banned p2p trades. This isn't too much of an issue if you play at Poker Host because they have fast payouts and easy deposit options but Poker Host would certainly be better with this feature.
During the month of March in 2015, PokerHost has one of the largest new player deposit bonuses in the US poker market. New players who use our link to visit www.Pokerhost.com and create an account will receive a 100% match bonus up to $1,000. This is twice the match percentage and 10 times the max bonus amount compared to the average poker site bonus in 2015. This big bonus clears in easy $5 installments. We are giving new Poker Host players other incentives for using our link too. On your birthday we will transfer $10 in free poker money into your PokerHost account.

The poker room at PokerHost is the 3rd largest U.S. poker site in 2015. They have strong traffic at the micro, small and mid stakes Texas Hold'em, Omaha and Omaha HL ring tables. Poker Host has one of the largest selections of card games anywhere. The downside is that they only have enough real money traffic to populate the big 3 games listed above. Other games like Stud, Draw, mixed games and Badugi typically only have a couple real money games running. The PokerHost Casino will also be covered here.
During the month of March in 2015 PokerHost is processing payouts within 1-3 days. By "processing" I mean the total time between hitting the cashout button and receiving the money. Many claim that PokerHost is the fastest paying US poker room in 2015 but it seems to me that Bovada Poker and BetOnline Poker are just as quick. I'm getting ahead of myself though. Let's take a look at the PokerHost deposit options for players from the USA.

I like to give readers some background information about the poker rooms I review. I have never been a huge fan of the Merge Gaming Network, which Poker Host is on, so I will also review the network. It is important to learn about the network because when the network decides to change something all of the skins have to go along with it. Poker Host has an excellent reputation and nearly a decade's worth of fast payout processing and excellent support but they must follow network rules and sometimes those rules can be unfriendly to poker players. I will start with a PokerHost.com history review from 2004 to 2015.
PokerHost first opened in 2004 and they were one of the first U.S. poker rooms at that time. Poker Host has changed networks a total of 3 times since they first opened:
PokerHost is owned by the same person who owns SBG Global, a sports betting site. SBG Global does not have a spotless record like PokerHost and these two companies are separate in many ways. If SBG Global and PokerHost were closely connected I would probably not list them but since Poker Host operates independently and has a clean record from 2004 to 2015 it is not an issue.
The Merge gaming Network was established when poker.com sold their domain name, opened Carbon Poker and created the network in 2007. The network is the largest U.S. friendly poker network in 2015, in regards to the number of skins. The software, which Poker Host uses, is surprisingly cool and comes with features found nowhere else. The Merge Network has always had one major problem: slow payouts. If Poker Host had used the network's banking system I would not be writing this but they handle deposits and withdrawals themselves. Merge is trusted by players and affiliates but there have been some poor policy decisions, which effect Poker Host players too. One such policy is the banning of player-to-player transfers. That concludes this 2015 Poker Host review.
