Position Descriptions

Duties of Chapter Officers

President

The president shall be the executive officer and shall administer all business of the Society as provided for by the bylaws.  The president services as chief representative of the chapter at inter-chapter activities, and shall be an ex-officio member to all committees except Leadership Successor Committee.

President-elect

The president-elect shall succeed into the presidency at the end of the term of office and shall promote the purposes of the Society.  In addition, the president-elect chairs the Awards Committee and is responsible for updating the Chapter exhibit for local and national conferences.

Vice President

The vice president shall perform the duties of the president in the president’s absence and shall chair the Program Committee.

Secretary

The secretary shall prepare and distribute meeting minutes and correspondence.

Treasurer

The treasurer shall be the custodian of the funds of this Chapter and may be bonded in an amount equal to three-fourths of the worth of the Chapter.  The treasurer shall propose a budget to the Board.

Counselors

Counselors shall be members of the faculty at the college or university where the chapter is located. The Eligibility Counselor shall serve as chairperson of the Eligibility Governance Committee and the other shall serve as chairperson of the Research Committee.
